A National Public Health Crisis
Up to 50% of adults report experiencing loneliness at least sometimes (U.S. Surgeon General). 1 in 3 older adults also report loneliness (University of Michigan). Young adults aged 18–34 report the highest rates, with up to 43% affected (CDC).
Why It Matters
Loneliness is not just emotional — it has measurable health consequences: increased risk of depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline; higher likelihood of heart disease and stroke; and a mortality impact comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes per day (NIH).

By creating consistent, welcoming opportunities for connection — clubs, shared activities, and local engagement — we are rebuilding the social fabric that supports well-being, right here in Chelsea.
Chelsea Love Collective is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, dedicated to fighting the loneliness epidemic on a neighborhood level.
WHAT WE DO
Four Pillars of Connection
Neighborhood Clubs
From book clubs to running groups, find your people. We create spaces for neighbors to connect over shared passions. When strangers bond over shared interests it creates opportunities for friendships to flourish. We invite neighbors to bring their ideas for new clubs.
Community Events
From park events to pop-ups at local businesses and venues, we bring neighbors together to celebrate and activate the best of Chelsea's spaces and community. We create social opportunities that bring neighbors together for the purpose of belonging, joy and the opportunity to grow their networks.
Small Business Support
Creative initiatives to uplift the local shops, restaurants, and services that make Chelsea special. We build a bridge between small businesses and their neighbors, because when you walk into your local coffee shop and they know you by name, you feel like you have a friend down the block.
Community Outreach
We run donation drives focused on school readiness, unhoused shelter, and seasonal needs — showing up for our neighbors when it matters most. By teaming up with local schools, shelter, food rescue missions and other organizations, we activate neighbors to come together to do good together.
